Real Custard

Katie surpassed herself tonight by not only making fresh crumble but also fresh custard, with cream, sugar, egg yoke and a vanilla pod (very expensive, but reusable). I was surprised because it really did taste better than Birds, which I had thought was the ultimate. Here’s some trivia, too, folks, courtesy of Joel – Bird, or whoever it was that invented Bird’s custard came up with the formula without eggs because his wife was allergic.
